Successful Kick-Off Meeting Launches EU-Funded Path-for-young Project in Paris

The Path-for-young project, funded by the European Union under Grant Agreement N°101156800, officially launched with a dynamic two-day kick-off meeting on 20–21 January 2025, in Paris. (short version for homepage)
Bringing together leading experts, researchers, clinicians, patient advocates, and private partners from across Europe, the kick-off meeting of the Path-for-young project marked the formal beginning of this ambitious and collaborative project focused on improving cancer care pathways for young premenopausal women.
The event opened with remarks from Project Coordinator Ines Vaz-Luis, followed by a keynote from Ioannis Vouldis of the European Commission. The first day featured in-depth presentations on the patient journey, the role of genomic testing, and insights from the OPTIMA trial, with contributions from prominent voices such as Ann Partridge, Christos Sotiriou, and Adrienne Morgan.
Attendees also received an overview of the Path-for-young project, heard updates on various work packages, and insights from partners UNICANCER, Klineo, and Resilience. The day concluded with a networking dinner to foster collaboration among consortium members.
Day 2 focused on clinical trial strategies, testing approaches, patient co-creation, health technology assessments, and digital platform development. Highlights included presentations by the Warwick team, Jérôme Lemonnier, Stefan Michiels, and Maria-Alice Borinelli-Franzoi.
The meeting concluded with closing remarks and a networking lunch, setting a solid foundation for the work ahead.
