SOLTI

SOLTI is a prominent cooperative group in the field of clinical cancer research, with 30 years of experience. The group's primary focus is on designing and executing translational clinical studies, particularly in the academic field. While SOLTI's main emphasis is on breast cancer, its research scope also includes other types of tumors.

SOLTI collaborates with a network of more than 100 hospitals across Spain, Portugal, and Ireland, involving around 480 researchers.
The group has conducted over 80 clinical trials and currently has more than 30 ongoing studies.

In addition to its scientific endeavors, SOLTI runs a Medical and Patient Education program, which includes various annual initiatives to enhance the knowledge and empowerment of both healthcare professionals and patients. The group's mission is to develop innovative research that will improve the future outcomes of cancer patients

Role

SOLTI will manage the clinical trial at the national level in Spain with the participation of 10 sites.
SOLTI's involvement includes recruiting patients, managing data collection, and analyzing results to contribute to the overall findings of the trial. By participating in this study, SOLTI aims to improve treatment strategies for young women with breast cancer, potentially reducing the need for chemotherapy and its associated side effects.

Members

Dr. Maria Vidal

Dr. Vidal will be the Principal Investigator coordinating the trial in Spain.

Dr. María Vidal is a distinguished medical oncologist specializing in breast cancer at the Hospital Clínic de Barcelona.
She has been actively involved in clinical research since 2009, participating in over 60 phase I, II, and III clinical trials. She has also served as the principal investigator for various studies, contributing significantly to advancements in breast cancer treatment
At the Hospital Clínic de Barcelona, Dr. Vidal is part of the Medical Oncology Service (ICMHO), where she focuses on breast cancer. She is also affiliated with the IOB – Institute of Oncology, further extending her expertise and influence
Dr. Vidal's commitment to improving breast cancer treatment and her extensive involvement in research and education make her a highly respected figure in the oncology community.

Her work continues to inspire and drive progress in the fight against cancer.

Marc Cosína

Marc Cosin will be responsible for overseeing the Spanish sites to ensure the success of the clinical trial. As the project manager, he will coordinate and manage all activities across the participating sites, ensuring strict compliance with the trial protocol and maintaining high standards of data quality and patient safety. Marc will serve as the primary point of contact between Unicancer and the local hospitals, facilitating effective communication and collaboration.

In his role, Marc will monitor the progress of the trial, addressing any issues that arise promptly to keep the study on track. He will ensure that all activities are aligned with the trial's objectives and regulatory requirements. Additionally, Marc and his team will provide essential training and support to the local site teams, ensuring they are well-prepared to meet the trial's demands.
