Central and European Oncology Group (CEEOG)
Central and East European Oncology Group (CEEOG) was founded in 1983 as the South and East European Oncology Group (SEEOG), initially comprising 15 institutions from six countries. In 1988, the organization was renamed CEEOG to better represent its geographic scope.
Since its inception, CEEOG has expanded to include approximately 35 academic and community hospitals across multiple European countries. It specializes in translational research, investigator-initiated phase II studies, and actively participates in large phase III clinical trials as part of international consortia. While CEEOG's research spans multiple cancer types, its primary focus is breast cancer. As a member of the Breast International Group (BIG), it collaborates with leading global organizations such as EORTC, IBCSG, and the National Cancer Institute NCI.
In 2005, CEEOG established the Polish Brain Metastasis Consortium (PBMC), which now includes around 30 institutions. PBMC is dedicated to translational research on brain metastases, further expanding CEEOG’s contributions to oncology.
