EUPATI<\/h2>\n

\"The European Patients\" Academy on Therapeutic Innovation (EUPATI) provides education
\nand training for patients and patient representatives on the process of medicines research
\nand development (R&D). The trained patient experts are key to realising meaningful patient
\nengagement in medicines R&D, regulatory deliberations and other activities.<\/p>\n

EUPATI was established by the Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI) in 2012, and was hosted
\nby the European Patients' Forum (EPF) as a Public-Private Partnership Programme 2017-
\n2020.<\/p>\n

EUPATI is today established as an independent non-profit Foundation in the Netherlands and
\nhas 24 National Platforms in Europe and in Japan.<\/p>\n

\"We focus on education and training to increase the capacity and capability of patients to be valuable contributors to medicines research and development by working with patients andthe stakeholders they collaborate with.<\/em>\"<\/p>\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Role<\/span><\/h2>\n

Our contributions will include:<\/p>\n

      Co-Creation Stakeholder Board, ensuring the patient voice is central to the project.<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n

        Delivering expert training in co-design and patient engagement for the consortium.<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
      • \n
          Developing a digital course for both patients and healthcare providers on clinical trial operations and the novel care pathway being tested in the trial.<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

          Maria Connolly<\/h3>\n

          Maria is the EUPATI Project Coordinator for the Path-for-young project and is responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of EUPATI project tasks from initiation to completion.
          \nThe role incorporates managing schedules, and coordinating resources to ensure that all project objectives are met on time and within scope. As Project Coordinator, she serves as a key point of contact for EUPATI as well as communication among team members, and stakeholders, ensuring all parties are aligned and informed throughout the process.<\/p>\n

          In addition to managing documentation and tracking progress, the Project Coordinator helps identify potential issues and provides solutions to keep the project on track. It also involves assisting with budget tracking, logistics, and day-to-day administrative support to ensure the project's success.<\/p>\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

          Enrico Tricanico<\/h3>\n

          Enrico Tricanico is a Senior EU Projects Coordinator and he provides support to the internal management of the Path-for-young project. He has an academic background in Political Science and nearly 10 years of experience managing the ethical, legal, and financial aspects of innovation projects, including clinical trials.<\/p>\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

          Ingrid Heyne<\/h3>\n

          Training sessions will be provided for patients, family members, caregivers, and stakeholders. To fulfil this task, a digital course focused on clinical trial operations and understanding of the novel care pathway tested in the trial will be developed for both patients and health care providers. This will involve using resources and materials from EUPATI, and another partner Europe Donna. Ingrid will play a key role in reviewing EUPATI materials that can be included in this course and used to support the development of the digital course content. In her role as Alumni Coordinator, she can also connect EUPATI Fellows with the project team, if input from expert patients is required.<\/p>\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

          Jana Popova<\/h3>\n

          As part of implementing innovative methods for patient engagement, the consortium will receive proper training in co-design and patient engagement provided by EUPATI.
