Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM)<\/h2>\n

The University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM) came into operation in 1985, although it was officially created by law on the 30th of June 1982. From its first days, this academic institution was an element of cohesion and had a precise aim in mind: to act as a fundamental cog for economic, social, cultural, and technological development for society, providing solutions for its present and future needs. The UCLM is a smart move for those shaping their future, those who wish to gain more training, and international students pursuing academic enrichment, vitality or language learning. It is also for companies that will find a wide variety of research, development, and innovation opportunities in our research portfolio (R&D). It doesn\u00b4t matter if you have been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize or if you are in your first year. We encourage all our researchers to seek answers to fundamental and pressing questions that society is facing.<\/p>\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Role<\/span><\/h2>\n

UCLM is a partner that aims to lead one specific task focused on reviewing the current health policy strategies for implementing multi-parameter gene expression assays, especially in the European context. This will provide critical and valuable information to help the path-for-young project access and transfer the main results to society. Moreover, our team will help other partners responsible for carrying out the economic evaluation of path-for-young technology using a cost-effectiveness analysis approach.<\/p>\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Juan Oliva-Moreno<\/h3>\n

Juan Oliva is Full Professor in the Department of Economic Analysis and belongs to the Research Group on Health Economics and Health Management (GIES) at the University of Castilla La Mancha. His scientific activity is focused on health economics and policy with special emphasis on the societal impact of diseases and the use of economic evaluation of health interventions applied to decision-making process.<\/p>\n

He has participated in numerous national and international competitive projects and has published nearly a hundred and a half articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals such as Health Economics, Journal of Health Economics, European Journal of Health Economics, Pharmacoeconomics, Value in Health, Health Policy, Neurology, Diabetes Care, Heart, Stroke, PlosOne... and other fifty collective works.<\/p>\n

He has collaborated with the Ministry of Health in the elaboration of several disease strategies, health promotion and in the elaboration of the National Health System Report, as well as with several Health and Welfare Departments and companies in the health sector.<\/p>\n

Member of the Board of the Spanish Health Economics Association during the years 2007-2013 (President in the period 2010-2013.<\/p>\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Luz Mar\u00eda Pe\u00f1a-Longobardo<\/h3>\n

Luz Mar\u00eda Pe\u00f1a is a Professor in the Department of Economic Analysis and belongs to the Research Group on Health Economics and Health Management (GIES) at the University of Castilla La Mancha. She teaches in various national and international Master's programs on Health Economics.<\/p>\n

A PhD in Economics, her scientific activity is focused on health economics and management with special emphasis on the societal cost of diseases and the use of economic evaluation of health interventions applied to decision-making.
\nShe has published more than 48 scientific articles, all of them in journals with an impact factor, such as the European Journal of Health Economics, Pharmacoeconomics, Health Policy, Gaceta Sanitaria, PlosOne, Revista Espa\u00f1ola de Cardiolog\u00eda, Revista Espa\u00f1ola de Salud P\u00fablica and other economic journals. Among her scientific publications there are a dozen book chapters or complete books focused on the cost analysis and economic evaluations of various diseases.<\/p>\n

She has participated in 16 research projects, funded by competitive public funding at national (3) and European (4) levels, two of which as principal investigator, and 9 with private firms.<\/p>\n

She has been a visiting researcher (in collaboration) at centres such as CHE (Centre for Health Economics) at the University of York (United Kingdom) and at LSE (London School of Economics). In addition, she has been a member of the advisory committee of the European Commission in relation to long-term care system<\/p>\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Isaac Aranda-Reneo<\/h3>\n

LIsaac Aranda-Reneo is a Professor in the Department of Economic Analysis and belongs to the Research Group on Health Economics and Health Management (GIES) at the University of Castilla La Mancha. His scientific activity is focused on health policy and healthcare technology assessment with special emphasis on the cost-of-illness studies and the use of economic evaluation of health interventions applied to decision-making process and market access.<\/p>\n

He has participated in numerous national and international competitive projects and has published nearly thirty articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals such as Health Economics Review, European Journal of Health Economics, Value in Health, Health Policy, Human Resources for Health, Clinical Nutrition, PlosOne... and other international journals. Moreover, since 2019 he has been collaborating in the Editorial Board of the Orphanet Journal of Rare Disease, first as Editor and then as the Lead Section Editor of Health Economcis and Orphan drug section.
\nHe has also participated in nine research projects funded by private firms, four of which were as principal investigators. These projects aimed to reveal the cost of a disease from a societal perspective and conduct a cost-effectiveness analysis, helping decision-makers gain valuable information to access healthcare markets.<\/p>\n
